The Heritage

The Origin

Nestled between the High-Atlas and the Anti-Atlas mountains, Taliouine is the heart of Moroccan saffron. Here, the altitude and unique volcanic soil create a terroir unlike any other.

iD BAKHCHANE is more than a cooperative; it is a lineage of stewards protecting a 1,000-year-old tradition.

The Dawn

Taliouine,
Morocco

Our saffron is cultivated in the mountainous heart of the Souss-Massa region. The extreme temperature fluctuations from frost-driven nights to sun- drenched days force the plant to concentrate its precious essential oils.

Every gram of Bakhchane saffron is hand-harvested by our local cooperative at the exact moment of dawn, when the crocus flowers first open to the Moroccan sky.

Terroir of Excellence

The unique mineral composition of the Anti-Atlas soil provides the complex aromatic profile that defines "iD Bakhchane" saffron.

“We do not just harvest saffron; we preserve the light of our ancestors and the fragrance of our mountains.”
